The latest episode of Mystic Michigan titled “Light Within the Darkness” has premiered on Amazon Prime. The short film was produced by NK Films and students in the Television and Digital Media Production Program at Ferris State University. You can find the film here.


“A New Normal” won the Award of Excellence in Editing at the Philo Festival for Media Arts in Indiana. For a list of winners, click here.


The scholarship for Ferris State University’s Television and Digital Media Production program outraised its initial goal of $12,500 and ended up bringing in $14,790 which will be matched 1:1 by Ferris. It has been a tremendous campaign to work on! Check out our final video below.


”A New Normal” will air on KET Public Television in Kentucky at 4am on February 22.


“A New Normal” has officially been selected to screen at the Central Michigan International Film Festival and will screen at 11am at the Opperman Auditorium in Park Library at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant.

“A New Normal” is also an official selection of the Lake Michigan Film Festival and will screen at Studio C in Lansing on February 27 at 1:30pm.


The News Service at Ferris State University has a little story about the production of A New Normal.


“A New Normal” has been picked up by NETA (National Educational Telecommunications Association) for distribution to PBS stations across the nation. Stations will begin airing the program in February, 2022.

A New Normal chronicles the first 18 months of the COVID-19 pandemic by looking at how a rural university manages the crises and keeps campus running. It will take collaboration across the university to keep students, faculty, staff and administrators safe during the worst pandemic in 100 years. Click the play button to watch.

The film will be available to watch at your local PBS station in Winter, 2021.
